Taiwan’s Industrial Development Administration showcased 96 groundbreaking AIoT technologies at TAITRONICS 2025, reinforcing its global leadership with solutions in firefighting, wearables, XR, and smart transportation.
Taipei, October 24, 2025 – Under the theme “Smart Technology – Innovative Applications,” the Industrial Development Administration (IDA) of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs made a powerful impact at TAITRONICS & AIoT Taiwan 2025, held at Taipei’s Nangang Exhibition Center. The IDA’s expansive pavilion brought together 85 leading companies and research institutes, unveiling 96 cutting-edge technologies in electronics, semiconductors, optoelectronics, communications, and intelligent hardware. Notably, over 56 of these innovations have been field-tested, serving more than 10 million users and generating an economic impact exceeding NT$7.1 billion (approximately US$220 million), underscoring Taiwan’s pivotal role in the global AIoT ecosystem.

Intelligent UAV System: Revolutionizing Firefighting and Rescue
A standout exhibit was the intelligent firefighting unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system, developed by Zangsis Tech in collaboration with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). Integrating AI-powered computer vision and GIS mapping, this technology enables coordinated UAV fleets to monitor disaster sites, generate real-time 3D maps, and pinpoint fire sources and victim locations with precision.
Tested by the Kaohsiung Fire Department, the system has reduced manpower needs by 33% and boosted rescue efficiency by over 50%. With its proven success, the technology is poised for export to Southeast Asian markets, expanding Taiwan’s influence in AIoT applications.

AI Wearables: Precision Eye-Tracking Breakthrough
Himax Technologies and Genzone Tech unveiled a new line of energy-efficient AI wearables featuring infrared image sensors and advanced eye-tracking modules. The Aurora IIS Eye-Tracking solution offers high accuracy, low latency, compact design, and 3.5 times lower power consumption compared to similar products.

Set for commercialization in the U.S. by 2026, this innovation positions Taiwan at the forefront of AI sensor technology, with potential applications in healthcare, education, and virtual reality (VR).
“Digital Broadway”: Immersive XR Powered by 5G
HTC, in partnership with G-Reality, introduced the “XR Digital Broadway Theater,” a groundbreaking system combining dedicated 5G networks with interactive extended reality (XR) technology. Supporting up to 16 simultaneous users with a latency of just 20 milliseconds—twice the capability of current international standards—this platform redefines immersive entertainment.

Piloted at Kaohsiung’s Pier-2, the system attracted over 120,000 visitors, generating revenues exceeding NT$200 million (approximately US$6.2 million). This success highlights Taiwan’s leadership in 5G-driven immersive experiences, paving the way for next-generation cultural and tourism applications.
Transparent AI Displays: Transforming Smart Transportation
Darwin Precision and Cheng Hui Optoelectronics collaborated to develop an 86-inch transparent AI advertising display, integrating Full HD–4K LCD technology, AI voice recognition, multilingual translation, and interactive features. Deployed at Taipei’s main transit hub, the system supports fare inquiries and provides tourist information, with an estimated annual reach of over 10 million users while reducing operational staffing costs by 30%.

This innovation exemplifies Taiwan’s ability to integrate AI into urban transportation, advancing the development of smart, sustainable cities.
Shaping the Future of AIoT: Taiwan’s Long-Term Vision
The IDA attributes these achievements to Taiwan’s robust technology supply chain and proactive government policies promoting digital transformation. Through the “Industry-Wide Smart Application Roadmap,” the IDA is rolling out the Enterprise Competitiveness Consultation Program, supporting businesses with assessments, training, and resource connections.
With a goal to empower 200,000 Taiwanese enterprises to adopt AI by 2028, boosting per capita productivity by 20%, Taiwan is solidifying its position as a global leader in the AIoT era. The innovations showcased at TAITRONICS 2025 not only demonstrate Taiwan’s technological prowess but also set the stage for a smarter, more connected future worldwide.
