Taking place in Taipei from October 20–23, the event brings together governments, businesses, and academia across the Asia-Pacific to advance collaboration and innovation in the circular economy for a sustainable future.
Taiwan will host the Asia Pacific Circular Economy Roundtable and Hotspot 2025 (APCER & Hotspot 2025), reaffirming the government’s commitment to driving sustainable transformation and advancing circular economy development across the region.
According to the Ministry of Environment (MOENV), the event will be jointly organized with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the Taipei-based Circular Taiwan Network (CTN).
This marks the second time Taiwan has hosted the Roundtable—following its 2019 debut in Kaohsiung organized by CTN—and the first Asia–Australasia edition of the Circular Economy Hotspot, an international platform first launched in the Netherlands in 2016 to promote sustainability and global cooperation.
By convening government agencies, industry leaders, academics, and civil society organizations, the dual events aim to position Taiwan at the center of regional circular innovation and collaboration. They will also advance the global initiative “Circular Collaboration for Climate Crisis,” focused on accelerating real-world solutions to today’s most pressing environmental challenges.
Under the theme “Leading Circular Collaboration,” the program will include field visits to major Taiwanese facilities across key industries such as agriculture and food production, textiles, high-tech and electronics, construction, plastics, and packaging, as well as local revitalization projects.
The conference will also feature a high-level plenary forum with two major panels—one discussing national circular economy roadmaps from an Asian perspective, and another exploring governance frameworks and strategies for cross-sector cooperation. Additionally, multiple parallel sessions will cover critical topics such as green finance, circular accounting, and sustainable procurement. A dedicated business matchmaking segment will further encourage partnerships and investment in circular innovation.
Through this gathering, Taiwan aims to strengthen its position as a regional hub for circular economy leadership, connecting ideas, expertise, and technologies that can drive systemic change across the Asia-Pacific region.
