Samsung has confirmed that the next wave of One UI 9 beta devices will include the Galaxy S25 series and its 2025 foldable lineup.

Samsung Expands Android 17-Based One UI 9 Beta to More Galaxy Phones in September

03/09/2026Đô Nguyễn3 Mins Read

Samsung is expanding its One UI 9 beta program to more Galaxy smartphones this month, bringing the Android 17-based software closer to a wider rollout.

One UI 9 is already available out of the box on Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 foldables. Meanwhile, Galaxy S26 users have been testing the new software through Samsung’s beta program since May. The company is now preparing to extend the preview to several flagship devices introduced in 2025.

Galaxy S25 Series and Foldables Join the Beta Program

Samsung has confirmed that the next wave of One UI 9 beta devices will include the Galaxy S25 series and its 2025 foldable lineup.

Samsung has confirmed that the next wave of One UI 9 beta devices will include the Galaxy S25 series and its 2025 foldable lineup.

Eligible smartphones include:

  • Galaxy S25
  • Galaxy S25+
  • Galaxy S25 Ultra
  • Galaxy S25 FE
  • Galaxy Z Fold7
  • Galaxy Z Flip7

The beta will be offered as an optional program through the Samsung Members app. Samsung says the expansion will begin in September across selected markets, including India, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The company has not provided an exact launch date for each market. However, the expansion to multiple 2025 flagship models indicates that development of One UI 9 is progressing beyond the initial Galaxy S26 testing phase.

One UI 9 Moves Beyond the Galaxy S26

The Galaxy S26 series became the first Samsung smartphones to receive the One UI 9 beta in May. After several months of testing, Samsung is now bringing the software to a broader range of premium devices.

This staged approach allows Samsung to collect feedback from users across different hardware platforms before releasing the stable version more widely. The company has yet to publish a complete schedule covering every Galaxy model that will eventually receive the update.

Because One UI 9 is based on Android 17, compatible Galaxy devices will receive both Samsung’s software enhancements and improvements introduced with the latest Android platform.

Beta Access Requires Samsung Members Registration

Unlike a regular software update, the One UI 9 beta requires eligible users to opt in through the Samsung Members application. Availability will depend on the user’s market and device.

Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 FE, Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 owners in supported countries can check Samsung Members for a beta registration banner once the program becomes available in their region.

As with any preview software, the beta version may contain bugs, performance issues or unfinished features. Users who rely on their Galaxy smartphone as their primary work or communication device should therefore consider the potential risks before joining the program.

Samsung’s decision to bring One UI 9 to its 2025 flagship phones in September marks an important step in the Android 17 update cycle. Further expansion to additional Galaxy devices is expected as testing progresses toward the stable release.
