Samsung may significantly increase battery capacity on its upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro, according to regulatory certification documents.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is reportedly set to feature a 5,700mAh battery, up from the 5,000mAh capacity of the current Galaxy S26 Ultra. The smaller Galaxy S27 Pro could also receive a 5,200mAh battery.
The reported upgrades would mark a notable change in Samsung’s approach to battery capacity. The company has traditionally taken a cautious stance on larger batteries and faster charging, prioritizing safety and long-term battery reliability.
If these capacities are confirmed, the Galaxy S27 series could offer longer battery life, particularly for demanding tasks such as gaming, video recording and AI-powered features.
The information comes from Chinese regulatory certification data and has not yet been officially confirmed by Samsung.
